What are Web Widgets?

Web Widgets are portable chunks of code that run in separate Web page instances and usually include some combination of HTML, DHTML, Javascript or Flash. Common types of Web Widgets include clocks, stock tickers, news tickers, weather information, games, etc.

Many companies have their own implementation of Web Widgets, such as Google Gadgets, Apple dashboard widgets and Yahoo widgets.

Torch Mobile's widget platform can support all of these kinds of widgets and more.

How can Web Widgets improve your device?

Torch Mobile's Web Widget platform can be used within and outside of the browser environment. Web Widgets can be brought up full screen to act as portal applications or they can be integrated seemlessly in to the main device UI.
